Home Safety Assessment & Personalized Plan

A comprehensive room-by-room assessment of the home, with a professional written report that identifies safety risks and provides a clear action plan, including recommended adaptive equipment, home modifications, and priority next steps. Includes a pre-visit intake review and real-time education during the visit.

Meet Amy O'Hern, COTA/L

Hello, my name is Amy O'Hern, and I am the founder of Rise & Shine Aging in Place Consulting, LLC, proudly serving Highlands County, Florida.

With over 20 years of experience in home health as a Certified Occupational Therapy Assistant, licensed in the State of Florida, I have dedicated my career to helping older adults remain safe, independent, and comfortable in their homes. Throughout my experience, I have seen firsthand how small, thoughtful changes within the home can significantly reduce fall risks, improve safety, and support individuals in continuing to live where they feel most at ease.

I started Rise & Shine because too many families were struggling to figure out how to keep their loved one safe at home; often after a decline in health, a fall, or a hospital visit that could have been prevented. My approach is simple: walk through the home, find the real risks, give you a clear plan, and stay available to help as things change.

Our mission is to help individuals "Rise" to meet life's changes and "Shine" safely and confidently at home - through compassionate, expert guidance that supports independence, dignity, and peace of mind for families.
